SCIENCE WITH JAMISON

Unit 1: Structures and Properties of Matter

Lesson 1: What is Matter Made Of?

Students are learning what matter is made of.  They are learning the definition of matter, the 3 common states of matter (solid, liquid, gas), identifying the properties of matter, and how to measure matter.  Students are also using each lesson to understand how matter is made of particles too small to be seen.

Lesson 2: Why Are Materials Different?

Students will be learning why materials are different when scientists are observing and measuring different substances.  They will learn the definition of each of the following words: substances, materials, heterogeneous, and homogeneous.  As well as how substances can change based on their properties, while keeping matter in mind.
